Interview
Your book, The Force of Your Promises, shares some deeply personal chapters of your life. Why did you feel it was the right time to tell your story to the world?
To be honest there wasn’t a right time. I felt the need to write it because as you will read in my book I have always found light in the dark. It was something for women to be empowered.

When you first arrived in the United States, what was the biggest challenge you faced and how did you find the strength to overcome it?
This is a tough question because there is no ONE true answer. I dealt with many challenges, some being language barriers, male dominated jobs, and raising two small children. I didn’t find the strength it found me and that was my vision of having a better life and doing what you have to do.

Building a leading empire in the world of finance and insurance is no small feat. What key principles or strategies have helped you become number one in your field?
The best strategy I have is HONESTY. I tell people what they need to hear even if they don’t want to hear them. This is my main key. I show people a problem but I also give them a solution.
You’ve gained remarkable influence in the media and within the Hispanic market in the United States. How has that connection shaped your career and personal mission?
It has been shaped for the best. I have always lent a helping hand, but now with social media it has helped me reach many Hispanics who just don’t know because our culture doesn’t teach it.

If you could give one piece of advice to those striving for success in a new country, what would it be?
Never lose your true north. Follow your dreams. Believe that you can achieve them. Have the discipline to work for them, and WORK in any way to keep it all alive. It’s the only way to make them come true.
